“We heard of neighbors helping neighbors, of people dropping off food on their friends’ doorsteps, of mutual aid groups, of people becoming champions and ambassadors in their community and, showing the way to access resources and support”-Elena Fairley
As millions of families accessed and received billions of dollars of financial support from the US Federal Coronavirus Relief CARES Act Fund, millions of immigrant families were excluded from federal COVID-19 relief. Find out in this episode how Mission Asset Fund [MAF] stepped up to create financial programs and support to help stabilize thousands of immigrant families in our community.
Our guests for today's show are the Co-Founder of Mission Asset Fund Jose Quinonez, along with the Director of Programs, Elena Fairley, and the Manager of Financial Education and Engagement, Efrain Segundo.

Mission Asset Fund
Based in San Francisco’s Mission District, Mission Asset Fund (MAF) is a nonprofit helping people to become visible, active, and successful in their financial lives. Through award-winning financial services and programs, MAF has funded more than 16,000 loans to low-income and immigrant communities across the country, helping people to increase credit scores, pay down debt, and save for important goals like becoming a homeowner, a business owner, or a U.S. citizen. During the pandemic, MAF continued to meet people where they are, raising nearly $100 million to provide more than 65,000 emergency cash grants to workers, students, and immigrant families left out of federal COVID-19 relief.
