“The native plant nursery and community garden expansion is going to dramatically increase LEJ’s capacity to achieve our mission. In the first year, we’re also going to remove 9,500 square feet of degraded asphalt. We’ll have a bioswale to capture 75,000 gallons of rainwater annually. We also have a large-scale rainwater collection system that will serve as an irrigation system and is calculated to provide and net 9,000 gallons in a normal year.
